100 Days of Prayer Challenge — Day 22

Hello all:

I didn’t spend loads of time praying today. I did more thinking.
Too often I live in a poverty-conscious mode. That is, I keep expect that I will run out of resources (usual financial) before all tasks/needs have been met.

I have actually reach  the point of an anxiety attack! 😦

This is not of God, I know. What do I do?
1. I started rehearsing how far I have come in building a stable financial base for myself. (Years ago, I didn’t even have my own checking account.)

2. I quoted scriptures regarding how God will provide for me .(Proverbs 22:4 By humility and fear of the Lord are riches, honor, and life.) Worrying about lack is not what I am supposed to be keeping on my mind. I need to focus on today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble in it (Matthew 6:34).

3. I searched online and started reading others quotes and explanations about the provision of God. (http://dailychristianquote.com/dcqprovision.html and http://thingsgodtaughtme.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/according-to-the-riches-of-glory-what-does-that-mean/)

4. I will close this entry with a challenge question. What day has come that God did not provide what you needed, not wanted, for that day?

I can think of no day. There has never been a day that I needed a supply of something: be it money, food, or someone to help me that it was not provided?

Can you think of such a day?

100 Days of Prayer Challenge — Day 16

Yesterday in church we were encouraged to keep praying. Well, I thought this sermon is right where I am — telling myself to keep talking it out with God

The song says:

Oh don’t stop praying for the Lord is nigh.

Oh don’t stop praying He’ll hear your cry.

For the Lord has promised and His Word is true.

If you don’t stop praying, He’ll answer you.

Dear Father:

Thank you for answer sto so many questions. Sometimes I don’t get the answer I want. Other times You seem to move a little slowly. Yet I know that You hear me for You say You hear the prayers of the righteous. You say, “Call upon me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which you know not of. ”

Thank you, thank you so much Father for the answers.

100 Days of Prayer Challenge — Day 13

Dear Father:  You know that I waver in my trust that You will supply ALL my needs.

In Sunday Service, it seems so easy to say Amen with all the saints and agree that every bill, okay forget every bill, just the ones coming up this week, will get paid.

In service it seems so easy to believe that I won’t have to forego something else to pay an immediate obligation.

A stranger reminded me of Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

God let this word and the veracity and power of You within it infuse me so that it sticks!
