Atheism: No God At All?

Several weeks ago,  I was telling an associate about starting this Christian Blog and she mentioned that she was an atheist. Our conversation really got me to thinking. How could one not believe in God? How could one not believe in any god? How does such a person account for man’s continual existence? Who or what even keeps the world spinning on its axis? Who or what keeps the oceans and the rivers at bay?  I had so many questions.

I don’t make any claims to be an expert or even reasonably knowledgeable about the world of atheism.  So for everyone else who is like me I included in this subject a definition of atheism and statistics from

Atheism can be either the rejection of theism,[1] or the position that deities do not exist.[2] In the broadest sense, it is the absence of belief in the existence of deities.

The first individuals to self-identify as “atheist” appeared in the 18th century. Today, about 2.3% of the world’s population describes itself as atheist, while a further 11.9% is described as nontheist.[4] Between 64% and 65% of Japanese describe themselves as atheists, agnostics, or non-believers,[5][6] and up to 48% in Russia.[5] The percentage of such persons in European Union member states ranges between 6% (Italy) and 85% (Sweden).[5] Atheism tends towards skepticism regarding supernatural claims, citing a lack of empirical evidence (in other words what can be seen by observation).

Common arguments for atheism  include the problem of evil, the argument from inconsistent revelations, and the argument from nonbelief.

I have answers for the “problem of evil” and I think I could find counter answers for the other arguments as why one should be an atheist.  But I am willing to hear a different view.  So, to the atheists in the world, please comment. I am interested to know what you have to say.

Is Fear Upon You Too?

The past few weeks have been VERY, VERY stressful for me.  Once again, I have to make another decision about my life and the direction I want it to take. I was sure that when my family heard of my decision I would look like a quitter, a failure.

I do not count myself as a failure. Yet, not  following through on this activity would definitely make me look like a failure.
In scripture, Job 3:25  says  “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”

My fear of being seen as a failure in the eyes of those I love surely came upon me. And I can tell you ladies and gentleman that living in such fear is so overwhelmingly distressing.  It can not be a place of God.

Often I have heard and have said myself that you live through a crisis one day at a time.  Now I have to change that. I am working my way out this one an hour at a time.  It is a slow and painful walk.   😦

Too Stressed to Hear?

What do you do when you need God ‘s direction before making a decision, but feel like the decision needs to be made immediately.  And God’s not answering soon enough? Plus, you feel too stressed to be sure you’re hearing from God and not just relying on the flesh?

Hmmm, I feel like there so much more to be said here. Comment please and stay tuned.

Have You Tried God? — Part 2

So maybe you think that  “trying God”  or including Him in your life is lame.  Consider that trying God or allowing Him in your life  will give you a sense of peace that nothing else does. I’m not saying that all of your problems get solved right away!  Just keep talking to Him, the peace will come!

* He’ll listen to your problems! You can tell Him anything or everything. (You know even all that stuff  that you’d never tell your mother :- )

* You can tell Him exactly how you feel. (Go ahead be as blunt as you know how: He can take it!)

To easily ask Him into your life, do this:

1. Tell Him how sorry you are for the wrong things you did
2. Ask Him for forgiveness
3. Ask Him to come into your life as your Personal Savior

A few minutes of real “talking it out” with the Master will keep you in this life all the way into eternity.  Let me know how GREAT you feel after you’ve talked with Him!

Have You Tried God?

We try many things in this life to make us happy.  Experimenting with drugs, sex, or hobbies that give us a rush, are just a few examples that can be named.  Some take a more moderate approach of looking for the perfect mate, getting the best education, or having that “perfect appearance.” Yet I have found nothing I have tried (whether it was moderate or just downright stupid) takes the place of God.

So I encourage you to really consider God. Let Him in your life. He really does, especially the more we know Him, satisfy all that longing within!

Romans 10:11 says “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Why don’t you try God today & experience that He will work for you too !  🙂

The Tongue: Oh, Was It About To Wound Me!

I was really frustrated today regarding a circumstance. The person would not quickly do as I had asked. I just started demanding that he obey. But to get what I wanted, I could feel myself getting overheated and definitely working towards telling the person off ! I had to remind and discipline myself to respond to the circumstance and not to keep reacting.

What does it say in the book of James about the tongue being an “unruly member”… I had to really focus on that scripture. Only the Master helped me pull myself together.

How do you ask the Father to help you, when your tongue just wants to keep wagging?
